MOBILEmail - how it works
MOBILEmail is a range of messaging services connecting you with mobile users.
MOBILEmail is sent like standard emails from any email account (POP, WEB or System). We simply extend the service so you can send messages to mobile phone users.
MOBILEmail email addresses are simply - the mobile number @xy.io (i.e 0400700700@xy.io)
When you send MOBILEmail our system checks that you are a registered user and delivers them to the mobile.
MOBILEmail requires no change to your email service and no additional software is required.
The three types of messages
- SMS: 160 character SMS messages.
~ Email to mobilenumber@sms.xy.io - Email: Long messages that look like an email when the receiver reads them. Messages are kept secure with PIN protection. Message replies are free and come back to your email Inbox ~ Email to mobilenumber@xy.io
- Picture Messages: High impact graphical picture messages. These personalised messages include your logo, pictures, barcodes and as many words as you like.

Get the most out of your email
- Receive email on your mobile. Anyone can send email to your mobile and you will receive them in seconds - no matter what type of handset you have.
- Microsoft Outlook™ Email Redirect. Forward important email to your mobile using our "Email Forwarding Tool" and Microsoft Outlook™ Rules and Alerts. Select all emails or just receive emails from a customised list of people
How the receiver will see your message
MOBILEmail is sent to a mobile as an SMS message. Or in the case of an email or picture message as an SMS message with a link that is used to view the entire message. Using the link requires a WAP enabled handset. Most handsets since 1990 have been WAP enabled. Note: viewing MOBILEmail incurs small data charges (usually a matter of cents) - see our website Pricing page for details.
How the receiver can reply to your email
The MOBILEmail receiver can reply to your SMS via SMS. (Standard carrier charges apply) They can reply to long messages by using the reply button within the email at no cost.
Making it easier for everyone
All registered MOBILEmail users can choose to have a copy of their MOBILEmail sent to their email address. This feature enables the receiver to view and reply from their mobile phone or their PC.
